About the client
Uncle Peter's Pancakes began as a single outlet in Bengaluru and grew into a chain of pancake cafes. The brand appeared on Shark Tank India Season 3, where it raised investment from three sharks.
Growing a chain means opening outlets in new cities while keeping each one recognisably the same brand. Every site is different, but customers should feel they are in the same cafe.
What we delivered
We designed and built the complete interior for the brand's outlets across Bengaluru, Hubballi, BITS Pilani, Goa Campus, Jaipur, Chandigarh, Patna. For each outlet our team handled:
- Layout and design: counter, seating and back-of-house planned around each site.
- Tiles and flooring: finishes that stand up to heavy footfall and daily cleaning.
- Furniture: seating, counters and display units sourced and fitted.
- Lighting: fixtures and wiring for the seating area, counter and signage.
- CCTV: cameras and screens for the counter and seating area.
- Signage boards: brand signage installed as part of the same job.
Everything was procured and installed by our own team, so the brand dealt with one contractor instead of a separate vendor for each trade.
From design concept to finished outlet
Every outlet started with a design plan that fixed the layout and the finished look before work began on site.
What other cafe owners can take from this
- Fix the brand standard early. A set list of finishes, fixtures and signage makes every new outlet faster to design and easier to price.
- Adapt the layout, not the look. Sites differ, so the plan changes from outlet to outlet while the materials and colours stay the same.
- Use one team for every trade. Tiles, furniture, lighting, CCTV and signage arriving from different vendors is where opening dates slip.
